In 2021, Influence & Co. celebrated 10 years of helping companies reach their business goals through strategic, high-quality content.
Over the years, we've grown from a group of three working in a single room to a team of more than 50 marketing professionals, and Influence & Co. became a woman-owned business when Kelsey (Meyer) Raymond and a partner bought out her co-founder's interest in the business in 2018.
The company started in 2011 with a conversation between Kelsey and Brent Beshore. Brent, the founder of Permanent Equity, found that the companies he invested in were having trouble securing publicity. So he asked the question: "Is there a better way to gain exposure?" The answer: Influence & Co.
At the time, Kelsey and co-founder John Hall (now CEO of Calendar.com) had never heard of content marketing — they just knew that companies were craving a different kind of PR and marketing. So Permanent Equity funded the new business as one of its portfolio companies.
Traditional PR firms only provided industry experts with a periodic quote or a press release that few people actually read. So we developed a solution utilizing our thorough knowledge of the online publishing world. We’ve since grown into one of the leading providers of high-quality expert content to the world’s best publications.
Our evolution continued as we saw an opportunity to connect the dots in our clients' content strategies to deliver tangible results rather than simply create content in silos. We're now equipped to deliver measurable results for clients who are prioritizing lead generation, SEO, sales enablement, and thought leadership.
