We know that you have a lot of factors to consider when you're looking to join a new company. Beyond just the salary, there are numerous benefits that contribute to your overall compensation package. To help you weigh your options, we wanted to provide an overview of what your total compensation package would look like at Influence & Co. Here’s a deep dive into the benefits we offer:

You might have noticed our core values on our "Careers" page and throughout our website. They're visible throughout our business as well. We strongly believe in these values, and they guide how we navigate our relationships with our clients, our teams, and our entire organization. 

 

Medical and Ancillary Benefits 

Health insurance is an important part of any compensation package. At Influence & Co., we want to make sure you and your family have the benefits you need. 

  • Medical Plan Options: We offer two plans for you to choose from. Both plans offer high-quality coverage through in-network providers. Influence & Co. covers the full cost of your health insurance premium if you choose to enroll in the "base" plan and 95% of your health insurance premium if you choose to enroll in the "buy-up" plan. The "buy-up" plan gives employees the option to increase the quality of coverage (e.g., lower copays, deductible, and out-of-pocket max) for an additional cost, paid for through payroll deductions. Coverage can be expanded to employee-spouse, employee-child, or family coverage at sole cost to the employee.

  • Health Reimbursement Account: Any employee who signs up for either medical plan offered by Influence & Co. is automatically enrolled in our health reimbursement account (HRA). The HRA is fully funded by Influence & Co. and reimburses you up to $750 during the plan year for eligible expenses. The initial purpose of providing this fully funded benefit to the team was to remove barriers and break down the stigma associated with getting the mental health support many of us need at some point in our lives. Since rolling it out, the HRA plan has been expanded to cover all medical, dental, and vision copays and coinsurance.

  • Flexible Spending Account: We offer a flexible spending account that allows participants to pay for many out-of-pocket medical expenses, as well as childcare expenses, with tax-free dollars.

  • Ancillary Plan Options: We also offer additional benefits that you can voluntarily elect. Additional (voluntary) ancillary benefits offered currently include vision, dental, short- and long-term disability, and voluntary term life insurance. 

Early on, we spend time with each employee to thoroughly explain the benefits available and answer any questions they have about plan options. We often have candidates ask about benefits during the hiring process, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

Eligibility: All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the benefits offered by Influence & Co. on the first of the month following their 60th day of employment. 


401(k) Matching

We offer employees the opportunity to participate in a 401(k) retirement plan through Empower Retirement. If you're just starting to plan for your future, an employer-sponsored retirement plan is a great place to start! Influence & Co. currently matches employee 401(k) contributions up to 4%. Employer contributions are pre-tax and applied to both pre-tax and post-tax contributions made by employees. In order to receive the full 4% match, employees need to contribute at least 7% out of their paycheck.

Dog Policy 

We love having our furry friends in our Columbia office. If your dog is at least 3 months old, potty-trained, and well-behaved, bring them with you! They are your responsibility, but trust us when we say that they’ll have plenty of friends in the office. 

 

21 Paid Holidays 

We want you to enjoy your time with family and friends, which often centers around the holidays. The following holidays are observed by Influence & Co. as a complete day off from work and are paid at employees' regular rate of pay: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Eid al-Fitr, Vesak, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Yom Kippur, Diwali, Election Day (the Tuesday following the first Monday in November), Thanksgiving, and Native American Heritage Day (the day after Thanksgiving). In addition to these full days off from work, Influence & Co. will be closed for a full week for the Annual Reboot (the week during which Independence Day is observed) and Winter Break (the time between Christmas and New Year's Eve).

 

The Tools You Need

Each new full-time hire receives a MacBook Air and the necessary software to do their job. Need an extra monitor, mouse, or keyboard? It's as simple as submitting a supplies request form. We want to make sure you're fully prepared to take on your tasks.

 

Birthday and Work Anniversary Gifts and Recognition

We love to celebrate a variety of occasions, big and small. These include your birthday and company anniversaries! However, we also know that not everyone wants to celebrate those moments at work! During our onboarding process, we ask new employees about their celebration preferences. If you want to keep your birthday under wraps, we understand. 

 

Mileage Reimbursement for Necessary Travel

While much of our work doesn't require us to leave the comforts of our own home, there are times that some travel might be required. If you’re traveling for work purposes, we don't want the financial burden to be on you. We have a simple reimbursement process, and reimbursements for mileage are paid out once a month. Of course, we always encourage you to carpool if multiple team members are headed to the same place! 

 

Quarterly Professional Development Days

Once a quarter, we bring the entire team together for a day of learning and growing. These sessions can include department updates, workshops, skill-building, process development, and even some role-playing. It’s a great time to connect with the co-workers you don’t often work with. This is also a time for members of the team to share their knowledge! It’s a time to further connect with employees and gain a better understanding of how each of us has the opportunity to contribute to — and directly impact — the overall success of the organization.  

 

Mentorship Program 

In addition to other growth opportunities, there might be individual skills you’re looking to grow while at Influence & Co. The mentorship program pairs individuals looking for growth opportunities with others who want to share their knowledge. 

 

Quarterly Culture Events

If you ask a former employee what their favorite thing about working at Influence & Co. was, there's a pretty solid chance they're going to say, "The people." We have to agree wholeheartedly. The people make this company truly great. That's just one of the reasons we try to get the team together for a culture event at least once a quarter. In an effort to keep things fresh and fun, we like to change things up throughout the year. The pandemic required us to get creative and go virtual when it comes to company events, but we're slowly getting back to in-person opportunities. These are completely optional but always a good time! 

 

Volunteer Opportunities

While we enjoy having a good time together, we also like to give back to our communities. We get involved in events and opportunities that align with our values and are close to the hearts of our employees. In the past, we’ve spent time at the local food bank, run 5Ks to raise money, put together drives for school supplies and feminine hygiene products, and served lunches to children during the summer. We plan to continue to work hard to give back to others. 

 

Small Group Opportunities 

Do you have an interest, hobby, or skill you want to share with your co-workers? There could be others who share the same interests! To encourage bonding among employees across the company and provide personal and professional growth opportunities, we began a small group initiative. There is an ever-changing list of groups available, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, start your own! We're always open to new small groups. 

 

Competitive Salary and Opportunities for Commission

We regularly evaluate our salaries to ensure they are competitive for the position and skill level. The majority of our roles are also open to commission or bonus opportunities. 

 

Parental Leave and Return-to-Work Program 

Influence & Co. strongly believes that early brain development is the foundation of human adaptability and resilience. In an effort to ensure positive first experiences, Influence & Co. is proud to offer a paid parental leave and return-to-work program to full-time employees on the first day of the month following their 60th day of employment. Influence & Co. provides full-time employees a maximum of 12 consecutive weeks off following the birth of a child or the placement of a child for adoption or foster care. Employees taking parental leave receive 100% of their compensation for six of the 12 weeks of leave, and upon return, they receive 200% of their salary for six weeks. This can also be coupled with short-term disability, one of the ancillary benefits offered. Our employee handbook breaks down the payment structure options available during parental leave and provides multiple scenarios. Our HR team will work with you to figure out what works best for you, your family, and your team. 

 

Mental Health Policy

We care about  the overall health and well-being of our employees and understand that a big component of that is mental health. We encourage employees to seek out resources to make them the best version of themselves. We have an entire mental health policy designed to break down the stigma associated with mental health in the workplace and communicate Influence & Co.’s commitment to supporting the mental health of the team, the type of support and reasonable accommodations Influence & Co. can provide, what support we can’t provide, confidentiality requirements, and much more. Additionally, as mentioned under the benefits section above, we offer each employee a $750 discretionary fund for the year that can be used for mental health copays. We strongly encourage employees to talk with their direct support and/or our HR director if they are struggling with their mental health and want to learn more about the support and resources Influence & Co. is capable of providing and/or finding support outside of work. Unfortunately, navigating all of the options within the mental health space can be overwhelming. We’re here to help! 

 

Growth Days 

If you can’t already tell, we take professional development seriously! We believe company-run professional development, no matter how great it is, can never replace the benefits one receives from increasing self-awareness, gaining clarity on what brings them joy and fulfillment, and spending some time working on themselves. That’s why we’ve implemented Growth Days, an idea that came from our very own employees at our 2018 annual company retreat. A Growth Day is one day set aside for employees to invest in their greatest resource: themselves. Some have utilized growth days to read a book or participate in a webinar they’ve been putting off, while some have spent the day hiking and doing some reflection. This day is yours. We just ask that you share a bit about how you spent your day!

Bonus: Those who participate in the small groups program have the opportunity to earn an extra growth day each year! 

 

Open Workflow Policy (aka Flexible Work Environment)

We don’t think you must be at your desk at 8 a.m. and then watch the clock until 5 p.m. to be productive. If you want to work from home, a coffee shop, or wherever you feel most productive, go for it! We do ask that you are available online during normal business hours and attend meetings with co-workers, but we trust you to manage your workflow in a way that allows you to be as productive and effective as possible. Our focus is on the work that’s being done and the dynamic among your team.

 

Flexible PTO Policy

At Influence & Co., we do not have a set number of vacation days. Again, we want you to balance work and life and take the time you need to decompress. Our employees take a minimum of 15 days of paid time off. Our expectation is that your work and team are not negatively impacted by your PTO and that you have clearly communicated with your direct support about the time off that you need.
